Thriving in coastal climates and tolerant of salty conditions, this very adaptable brassica family plant forms a mounding, 3 foot tall and wide mass of silver-green leaves and sends up billows of sweet-scented tiny white flowers. Traditionally, Sea Kale has been enjoyed by cooking its tender, nutty flavored, blanched spring shoots, leaves, flower buds, and roots. Not only does this amazing plant offer plenty of culinary options, it’s a very handsome plant and can fit into an ornamental planting very well. Hardy to at least zone 4.
